Our workshops typically have 4 sessions, in this one they were as follows:
1. Sanjam Kiriya - martial yoga : stretches and whole body exercises (squats/Indian push-ups etc.) which produce a balance between agility and power required for Shastar Vidiya. 30 mins
2. Guide and Deflect - an introduction to basic footwork and entries as found in the base style of SV (mool). 90 mins
3. Interrupting on entry - looking at how to enter with an interruption. Exercises which develop understanding of distance/range and timing. 90 mins
4. Garuda Yudhan - Bird style (3rd style of SV) : techniques and strategies from the 3rd SV style of the bird. The 4 sub-styles are explained and developed of Cockerel, Peacock, Eagle and Gander. Unarmed and armed stick/sword fighting applications taught. 90 mins.
